Blinking Lights following Each other

2-4 blinking lights In sporadic pattern. Started south west of Venus quickly moved across the sky east then very high up and circle back north.
Caught up behind a visible plane that was flying in a straight flight pattern. Lights were bright white& red/orange.
Seemed to be two very quick blinking lights then additional light blinking in the middle. No pattern to blinking and quick moving thoughtout the sky
