Balls of light mistaken for distant stars but they would come closer and farther drift together and apart. Crescent light, 10 ufo minim

They were stars that had half crescent shapes under them with an occasional beam of light. They flew up down they would squiggle and they would zip faster than anything I’ve ever seen. They formed a T shape and it was over a great distance. They covered half the sky while my mother and girlfriend watched for over an hour.
