Dancing Orb's in sky, seemed like playing, at times following a pattern but other times randomly darting back and forth

the light's were round they seemed like a beam of light not bright kind of what an airport beacon would be but no beam went up from the ground or came down from above. They would dance around not following a certain pattern. Then they would change 4 would meet and touch in the middle then sort of bounce back,and do that over and over. It seemed like they were playing. The next night Sunday evening they were back but not in the same area, further away but followed the same routine. 4 from our family and 3 from another family all seen the same thing.1 was a Veteran and said he never seen anything like that. Still trying to figure this out. Our dogs did not react to this.
