String of lights moving from southeast to northwest

Star lit night. I was looking at venus and jupiter. I saw what looked like an interrupted contrail illuminated by the stars. Looking closer it was a series of lights moving in unison. I snapped a picture and tried to video, but the lights just disappeared. The picture shows the lights in a line
