I saw a very large black cloud like structure and within minutes disappeared

What appeared to be a large black, cloud-like structure, started moving towards my direction faster than any cloud I’ve seen during a storm. Exception was that there was not a storm or any other clouds in the sky. I saw a V pattern following it and alerted my wife. When she came outside it was still present but within seconds it became distant and disappeared. We tried following the direction but there was no sight of the object. I have a photo for reference.
