Shiny object hovering high in the sky for a couple minutes I am a chemical engineer and an executive at a major manufacturing company. I was outside laying on the trampoline looking at the sky with my kids. Straight above us, at about the same altitude as an airplane might be, or higher, I noticed a bright object. It was evening so there was still plenty of daylight, so the light we saw was a reflection from a metal object. At first I thought it was a plane, but it wasn't moving. It was just motionless, and we watched it for at least a minute. I got out my phone and started recording but by then it was gone. Also, you can usually see the shape of an airplane, and make out the fuselage and wings. This object seemed to be round.
