Light moving too fast to be satellite or plane changing and disappearing before leaving line of sight

We witnessed a light similar to a satellite but moving at MUCH higher rate of speed it traveled across the sky from Sunset towards the opposing horizon before it disappeared it spread into two lights and then condensed back into one and then faded into nothing BEFORE leaving our line of sight
