Silver Oval flashed, hovered, and then disappeared.

I was driving on CT Route 15. Something high in the sky flashed brightly. I looked up to see what it was. I saw an oval grey/silver object hovering above. I stared at it for a few seconds trying to figure out what it was. While I was looking at it, after a few seconds, it disappeared.
