Heading north on the NJ parkway, around mile marker 95, at exactly 12 AM a green (traffic light green in color) flash lit up the sky to the Northeast. The flash started as a gradual green haze followed by a bright flash. Not sure what this was, but it startled me while I was driving. This isn't really the time of year for fireworks, and I didn't see any other flashes that might indicate that is what the flash came from. Also the way the flash started as a green haze and then culminated in a bright flash did not fit the behavior of any fireworks that I have seen. I'm interested in seeing if this phenomenon was witnessed elsewhere, even if it was not a UFO.
