Two lights seen high in the night sky with motion not typical of a plane and too fast for a helicopter.

I saw two bright objects that looked like stars in the western sky that moved in a very smooth synchronous motion, Then the both objects faded out of view. They did not have flashing lights like a commercial or military plane and their flight pattern was not linear like a plane but smooth and wave like with one object paralleling or following the other.
