Airplane speed object flying and then turns into a long fireball. Noticed by 4 people in multiple areas of town.

Driving home from work and I see an object moving at airplane speeds, then an elongated fireball streaking across the sky and the flying object disappeared. I had 3 friends hiking across town who also saw the same events unfold.
