Octagonal, bright, white/blue, light that flashed 3 x, and disappeared

My son & I saw a huge whitish/blue, octagonal light that flashed three times and then disappeared! Was NOT a shooting star or plane!

Immediately brought us to tears and made us both strangely emotional! Unbelievable!!!
