Blue Violet disk over Santa Catalina Island in San Pedro, CA.

I was on top of the hill that overlooks Pt. Fermin park called where the Korean Friendship Bell is located when I noticed a strange blue/violet shape off in the distance over Santa Catalina Island. At first I thought it was the sun playing tricks with my eyes, but I noticed it moved a bit. I was still skeptical.

I wanted to take some pictures of the reflection on the water, from the sun so began shooting. I was using my Iphone 6 to take the pictures and looking into the camera I noticed an object that appeared to be moving around. I looked out and could see something moving very fast but my eyes could not keep up. I took more pics and capture closer images of this. When I got home I was pretty sure what I had seen was a UFO and began to do some research. It turns out that I am not the only one in my area that had seen similar things very recently and going back to the 1950's.
