Approximately 9pm, I spotted a reddish orange ball shaped object. At first, I thought is was a firework, but the object began to rise.

Approximately 9pm, I spotted a reddish orange ball shaped object. "At first I thought is was a firework" but the object began to rise slowly from the ground in a diagonal direction. It rose about 300 feet or so and appeared to stop, then it slowly faded away to a speck.

This was on the south side of Smith Point Park Beach.
