Bright shining ball of light moves across sky in Smithfield, RI.

On Friday, May 8th, at 12:05 AM EST, my friend and I were outside, when we saw a bright object overhead. The object appeared to be circular. It was very bright, and had the color of yellow/orange with a slight pink/purple tint at the end of it. It seemed to be relatively close. It shined much bigger and brighter than an airplane blinker. The light shining was consistent and didn’t blink.

It moved across the sky for most of the duration we saw, then it dropped a bit, then moved sideways and behind the tree line. While it moved, there was no trail of light or anything left behind it. There was also no noise.

This is unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. It didn’t resemble an airplane, helicopter, or weather balloon.

At first we thought it may be an asteroid, but there was no trail of light and it moved in different directions.
