Watched a stationary bright light that disappeared instantly, like a light bulb turned off.

I saw a bright light in direct Southern sky. Thought it was a airplane but it wasn't moving in any direction, then i assumed it was a Star although i didnt see any others, and felt it was to bright.

After watching it for 3 to 4 minutes it was gone, just like a bright light bulb being turned off. I have no idea what it was.
