orange fireball that stood still then started moving left and right and then shooting straight up into the sky

We were at our beach house and it was just starting to get dark outside and I was in the garage with my husband when my 6 yr old nephew yelled to me that there's something in the sky.

We ran out to see and there was a orange, red, faint green fire like ball that stood still for a few minutes.

Then the object started moving slowly to the left then stopped again for a few more minutes.

Then the object started moving to the right at a little more faster pace then it stopped again and shot straight up into the sky at an extreme rate.
