Location: Balsam Lake (Canada), ON, Canada

Soft light blue line of light stretching across sky moving quickly across night sky in very unusually way at considerable speed.

Viewed a long line of soft light blue-ish light that stretched for one side of visible sky (lightly forested area) to the other, over Balsam Lake Provincial Campgrounds in Ontario Canada around 12:30am on August 25, 2013. Line ran southwest to northeast. Then in about 15 seconds the whole line pivoted overhead about 15-30 degree angle so that southern end stayed almost fixed and the northern shifted eastward. Then both ends of the line moved south away from our view point as it moved it continued to turn towards a 90 degree angle from our view point (now northwest to southeast across the sky) and disappearing towards the horizon, all in less than 2 minutes. No planes or helicopters visible with clear skies and it did not look like ground based spotlights. Line was clean and straight with soft glow and almost no visible edge. With my arm stretched out and with thumb held up, line was thinner than my thumb width. At first look I thought it was contrail backlit by the moon until started to move and I realized that it did not have the same texture as a cloud or contrail does. No puffiness, just clean blue beam of light moving in what appeared to be within the atmosphere, but height unknown.
