Eight orange glowing globes floating over the Gulf of Mexico at Cape San Blas, FL.

On October 24, 2012 around 19:45, my husband and I were walking along the beach in Cape San Blas, FL about a mile or less from the state park. We dropped our gear to make a fire and surveyed the night sky. To our surprise we saw some orange glowing globes floating in a fairly straight line down the coast. They were approximately 30 degrees up from the horizon. They disappeared so quickly that it did not register with us whether or not the globes were moving, just maybe fading in and out in their own space. When some of them disappeared a flicker of bright white light flashed close to where they had been although no noise was heard at all. These phenomena occurred within a short time with a total of about eight globes appearing and disappearing. These globes were not airplanes, lanterns, fireworks, flares or shooting stars. We saw airplanes and shooting stars during the evening which did not compare to the size of the globes. The globes appeared to be! at least ten times larger than the shooting stars and had no tail. They were several times larger than the lights of any of the airplanes we saw. We could not tell the distance from the beach. They were not boat lights as they were too high over the water to be such. The night was clear and the moon although not full lit up the beach very well.
