Ex. A.F. pilot and wife report large, slow-moving oval

A retired U. S. Air Force pilot and his wife were driving westerly on Dynes Road in central Camano Island, Washington sometime between 8:50 and 9:00 pm on September 13, 2012 (Thursday) when they both saw a large "egg shaped" oval object about twenty degrees arc in length low on the horizon ahead of them. Tall evergreen trees lined both sides of the roadway (48deg 13min 31.73sec N; 122deg 29min 32.97sec W) and the partially lit object appeared to be positioned just above the tree tops ahead of them at an unknown distance.

The UAP had one or two red lights on its front end, a green light above, and a white light underneath. It remained in sight for between 15 and 30 seconds before slowly moving horizontally to the right to disappear behind heavy, thick trees. The husband thought there were whitish panels or "uneven" surface details on the side of the object.

The husband first thought they had seen Navy jets that fly in the same area out of NAS Whidbey Island but discarded the idea when the UAP seemed to move so slowly. There were several discrepancies between the two witnesses (e.g., whether the object’s lights flashed or were steady, the alleged presence of particular surface details).

Neither claimed to have been drinking before the event nor have ever seen anything unexplained before this.

The weather was clear and calm; the sky was still a little bright behind the object which contributed to seeing its outline shape.
