Orange Orb like spear over ocean at Carolina Beach,N.C.

My friend and I were sitting on my front porch this past Saturday night. We noticed an Orange orb like ball over the ocean and high in the sky, we thought it was a meteor at first but it just stayed in the same spot for several seconds. Then it started moving down the coast heading north, slowly at first and then very fast and was out of sight in a couple of seconds.

Neither one of us was sure what we saw and had never seen anything like this before. It did not appear to be natural looking the way it hung in the sky and then moved off so fast.
