large metallic perfect disk (goldish)

On may 26, 1979 I took a passenger flight from Washington DC to Daytona FL.

After arriving at the airport I walked to the mall for a half an hour. Then started to walk in direction of Daytona Beach. I looked over my left shoulder and saw a large solid heavy disc object at approx 2000 ft.alt. flying south about 9:30 o’clock. My perceptions were stunned by how clear and sharp I saw it and how I (knew) it was something else, not of earth. I thought that strongly. I had chance to check every perspective as two 727 aircraft passed underneath going opposite directions, the disc flew steady almost directly overhead and there was not a cloud in the sky. Of course I was thinking everything you can think, everything I ever thought about astronomy and physics having studied those subjects. The object continued across the sky for about one and a half minutes then it started to descend to the horizon. Last sites were of a telephone wire that blocked part, then the disk left view. (from the curvature of the earth). It is the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen. I think many other people must have witnessed it. That night I watched TV. There were no reports of it.
