Hovering bright white lights hovering over Chatfield Lake in southwest Colorado

My friend and I were driving home west on C470 at around 1am in the morning. While we were talking I spotted something to the left of us that I thought was an airplane at first becuase it was flying at a normal ordinary airplane/ aircraft pace. It caught my attention and I observed it some more. Although was flying at a normal type of pace, it was flying very unsually low and started to slow down, until it came to a stop right over what looked like Chatfield Lake. The object had about 6 horizontal very bright white lights on the bottom of the craft. As I stare at this before my eyes, the object does not move for a good 5 minutes. It just stayed hovering there and then disappered. It was such a surreal thing to see. I had even forgot where I was going and drove about 3 miles in the wrong direction just because I could not keep my eyes off of this thing. I had even forgot my friend was in the drivers seat. I look over at her and she has the same astonished loo! k on her face. What we saw was real life. It wasn't a movie and it wasn't a fake photoshopped picture.
