Orange/reddish cigar shaped craft travels across the horizon then disappears straight up vertically.

Orange/redish cylinder-shaped craft with lights pulsating in brightness and color. Craft came over the horizon; no sound. Appeared to stop its forward travel and remain stationary for several seconds. Craft then went straight up vertically till the lights faded from view. Only one craft observed.

Observer is a professional, working in the aerospace industry. This was no plane!
