Fire in the sky I was walking my dog when I saw a flickering object that appeared to be on fire - at first I thought it was a firework being so close to the 4th of July but as I watched it I noticed it was moving across the sky and not up. I went back inside my home to get my wife - she came out to my porch and witnessed the object with me. It was traveling across the sky parallel to the ground at a high altitude. It was moving faster than an airplane but not as fast as a meteor, which was my first thought as to an explanation. It was just on fire, a bright orange, but presented no trail or tail common with large meteors and was not in a falling flight pattern. I went back inside to retrieve my phone to videotape the object but was unfortunately unable to locate the object upon returning. It was quite strange.
