Triangle formation over Richmond Maine in the late 1970's or early 1980's

I am not sure of the date or year this happened. I was a small child. 8-11 years old. It would have been in the late 1970's or early 1980's.

I had to go outside to the car to retrieve a comb or hairbrush that I had left there. As I came around the corner of the house I looked up and saw a triangular formation of white lights hovering over town.

I was located at the corner of Cross and Main St. in Richmond, Maine and would have been facing east towards the Kennebec River.

There was no sound.
