Orange glow in the northern sky.

Round orange-glowing ball, looked like fire glowing bright in the sky, looked like a star or planet--not moving. Directly north (some distance under north star. Glow grew brighter orange and then suddenly faded until white once again then completely distinguished and then disappered from sight.
