A bright, blue light instantly shot to the right, and then decelerated. On the night of November 18, 2011 a friend and I were travelling home from a dinner in Niles, Ohio, to my house in Newton Falls, Ohio. Traveling at 55 MPH on Ohio State Route 5, heading West-South West my friend saw a bright blue light, approximately the size of very bright star or small planet. The object had a light blue color to it and was very bright. I looked at the object, which was stationary, for about 4-5 seconds. Just then, the object made a sharp, fast movement to the right of viewing traveling about three or four inches in my scale of the sky view. It then rapidly decelerated, and continued to travel, this time at a slower pace, to the right where it disappeared behind the clouds. The light had an approximate height of 45 degrees from the ground. Visibility shaken, we both asked each other if we saw what we thought we saw. We continued along the highway, but were not again able to identify the object. When we returned home, we immediately turned to the internet in an attempt to see if anyone else had seen the object. I do not believe that the object was either a helicopter or plane, due to its stationary state then instant acceleration to the right followed by rapid deceleration. The object darted and then slowed in a way I have seen no other object do so. For the record, neither myself nor my friend had had any alcoholic beverages that night, nor were either of us under the influence of any legal or illegal substance. |
