orangy light, in a diamond shape, disapear into thin air. havelock nc

we were driving past a church on the right, and a few seconds later we were staring at this object thinking "what is this?" we opened the windows, no sound. it was an orange(ish) color. and we tryed not to look away, scared we would miss something, but it literally disapeared into thin air. it just went away. few clouds in the sky. and i have seen one just a mile away from this location about two years ago. someone else described the same thing, but saw it 20 years ago.
