Time submitted is approximate, but some time between 21:30-21:45. I was standing in my bedroom, leaning out the window having a cigarette. I was looking up at the sky, and looking at the stars, when I turned my head to look south-easterly, when I spotted a light appear, somewhere between 1-2 miles away. It lasted for only a short time, then blinked out! Living so near to Hill AFB, and an airport, I thought it might be a plane coming in to land, but, when the light went out, I noticed that there were no strobe lights flashing! I wear glasses to see clearer, but, I see pretty good without them, so I could not make out any particular shape, but there were no other lights on this object! It was also moving fairly slow, and, also being so dark, I could not tell it's elevation! Also of note, I talked with my brother who is living here about it, and then I went outside to stand on my porch, and saw that somewhere in Ogden City, someone was using a high powered sear! chlight to scan back and forth along some clouds that were near the mountains on the east side of the valley, as though someone else had seen this object, and were maybe trying to spot it! I called my brother outside and he witnessed this also, and agreed that that might be what was happening! This light I saw from my bedroom window was very bright, like the landing light of a plane, but there were no other lights seen, before or after the white one went on and off! And, there was no sound heard at all!
