straight bright blue/green light north to south

moving north to south, towards the east (from our house) straight across sky green and blue bright light looked like fireworks, but did not descend towards the earth.

looked like the changing colour of a propane torch.

very quick left a cloud like residue (exhaust?) in a perfectly straight line, that took 30-45 minutes to disipate.
