red shapes shooting across the sky

I witnessed four spherical shapes come towards me slowly, then shoot away. I was with my dog and my wife and my wife saw it too, and my dog stared barking at the grass which was near me, the dog then began to run in circles. I have never seen anything like it. Wierd They were red in colour
