Bright blue flashes in the sky and zigzagging light - 1994

This is for Peter and from memory. Approximately 6-8 women were gathered on the beach on Orcas Island to watch stars. Off to our left and in the sky, were two to three bright blue flashes.They appeared to be the same color as old flash cubes. Following that, I saw a light that I assumed to be a satellite until it started to zig zag right and left. Then it shot out a bright light with a small fiery tail to it. It zig zagged down towards the earth and about 60 degrees above the horizon, it disappeared from view. Then I heard a low hum as if an outboard motor were running out on the lake. That lasted for about an hour and/or until we left the beach to return to the cabin.

Date is approximate. We are grateful to the witness, who is well known to us, for he submitting the report. We have five other reports of this event from independent sources, who reported it to us shortly after it had occurred. The incident apparently gave rise to electrical anomalies in at least one home in West Sound, on Orcas Island. The source of that information we deem to be extremely reliable. We believe the date to have been Saturday night, September 24, 1994, and we have amended the date above. PD
