Lights flying in the formation of the shape of a small aircraft, split into 3-4 seperate and different colored orbs and flew off fast!

I'm a truck driver and I was driving up a fairly steep hill out of the 'Hondo Valley'. I was not going very fast, so I had time to see this. There were no other vehicles in front of, or behind, me. I was just starting the climb, when, over the crown of the hill, came what appeared to be a very low-/slow-flying small aircraft, like a Cessna. It got about (line-of-sight distance) 40' past the crown & split into 3 or 4 small orbs. Each was a different color. Then they went in different directions so fast, I couldn't keep track of them & safely drive at the same time. The setting is VERY rural. One of the darker areas in the picture of the map of the United States taken by a satellite from 450 miles up, showing population centers by the amount of light at night. When I reached the top of the hill, I looked for an airport or small landing strip, but found none. Kept looking for one all the way into Roswell. Never found one.
