Large object lit brightly came across sky near our home, outlined by brighter blue-white lights--silent & so bright,&low.

My husband & I were in our home when I saw a very large light object move across the sky from our Northern window. We went to the window & I saw it for maybe 2 seconds. We then ran outside at 9:45 p.m. to look at the sky above our street. The object emerged from behind houses into full view and continued traveling from northeast toward the southwest. It was a clear , dark night and the moon was a sliver in the south,behind us. A few stars were visible. The object made no sound and looked evenly lit up bright white. It was oval in shape with the ends of the oval parallel to the horizon. Around the whole perimeter were evenly spaced lights that glowed with a brighter blue-white light. Standing on our sidewalk we observed this clearly for about 20 seconds. I'd estimate that it moved thru 40 degrees of arc until it was again hidden by trees/houses. Both my husband & I felt it was very large. It was at least as large as 10 full moons.

As far as height , it may have been between 600 -1200 feet altitude. It was at about 30 degrees to the horizon ( NNE). When I lost sight of it at home, I ran to get keys and started my car to go look for it. When I drove up the Shunpike Rd. toward Summit,N.J. and I was a a hilltop overpass of Route 78 ,I looked down Rt. 78 and saw this object over the road maybe around Berkley Heights, 4 miles away. Since I could not park there, I continued driving to Springfield Ave., Berkeley Heights where I saw it for the last time now in the SW sky. Our background is that we are both college grads and I have a M.S. We both work as successful executives in business careers. In my youth I was in Civil Air Patrol and became a pilot. I've studied physics, astronomy, and other sciences.
