I was on board Coast Guard Cutter Acushnet WMEC 176 when we encountered loss of electronic power while towing a electronic surveillance buoy. A sudden fog bank arose out of nowhere, and the tow line went limp. We then observed said object on our stern at @ 220 degrees to bow. It didn't leave until a Navy fighter appeared. It accelerated at incredible speed. The ships log was taken, and we were told that "Nothing has happened, and that's an order".
