I seen a green object possibly a comet streek across the sky leaving behind in a summer night

Me and my cousin were standing on my driveway and all of a sudden I saw in the distance a green light leaving a trail across the sky. I don't know how far away the object was. It didn't move very fast like a flying saucer, and may not be a flying saucer but I think it is steal interesting enough to report
