white light travelling weat to east,suddenly changed direction and accelerated out of sight

observed bright as venus white light at 10 o'clock position travelling east,and I initially thought it could be the NASA shutle.However after about 30 seconds of observation,the light suddenly turned skyward and accelerated and dimmed to dissapear in about 4 sec.
