Hazy orange glow moving perpendicular to long cigar-shaped axis. Moved rapidly across sky.

Hazy orange glow moving perpendicular to long cigar-shaped axis. Moved rapidly across sky. Saw the first one move from approx north to south and approximately 30 seconds later, second glow moved accross the sky in nearly the same pattern. About 30 seconds later, the same glow moved across the sky in a east to west motion. From horizon to horizon, the event lasted less than 10 sec. I know it was not a star, sattelite, meteor, plane or firework. I am not a staunch believer in aliens although I think it ridiculous to dismiss the notion of other life forms. Please explain my sighting!!!

NUFORC Note:

The time indicated may be somewhat flawed, but that is only a guess. We believe that the sighting report describes the U. S. Navy launch of two "Black Brant V" experiments in the ionisphere.
