Two balls of lava
My niece and I went for a motorbike ride up to the top of the Kariba heights where the best view of the lake is possible on a clear moonlit night. We met two other gentlemen there who were also enjoying the view. It was a crystal clear and quiet evening. Suddenly a round object appeared from behind our right shoulders, moving slowly from the direction of the damn wall. When we noticed it, it seemed to notice us too as it froze mid air. I wish I had taken my phone with me but didn’t want it falling out of my shorts pocket on the bike ride. But I quickly realised what we were seeing so tried to pay special attention to the details. We were all dead silent, including the object, for about a minute. Then the two other gentleman quickly got in their car and sped off terrified. The object was approximately 40 meters away from us and about 10 meters off the ground. Dead still and dead quiet. It was about 3 meters in diameter and was at first very bright, but once my eyes adjusted I noticed the surface of the ball was like the surface of the sun. (Moving lava) after a couple minutes of very strange silence it took off at speed across the lake. Its acceleration was incredibly fast but silent. I counted the seconds it took to reach the sanyati gorge at the other side of the lake (30 km away) and it was 10 seconds. We saw the light reflecting off the hills on the other side as it hovered there for about another minute. We then realised we could see a second object hovering above Bumi hills resort down the lake. It was a crystal clear night and we could could see very far indeed. Then the first object went slowly down to the lake edge and starting moving very fast again back across the lake toward us, just above the water. We could see the light reflecting off the fishing rigs and the water as it flew. When it got near the lake edge at the foot of the hill we were on, it disappeared into the water without making a sound or splash. But we could see the light slowly fading as it went deeper. This was approximately 200 meters from shore. When we looked up toward the 2nd object it had disappeared.
