Glowing, changing brightness and moving in impossible patterns. Diamond shaped. Rainbow colors when brightest, moved in darting moves.
While sitting on a gravel road at 11pm, looking north, 8 miles from the town of Stockton Il, a friend and I noted something that began to glow more brightly than the surrounding stars. My friend spotted it and pointed it out to me. At first I thought it was a helicopter but soon noted the darting movements that no aircraft could possibly do, maneuvers like nothing I had never witnessed before or since. The object would glow brightly then appear to shrink. The object would then dart around, making sudden and seeming erratic moves, much like that of sparks from a campfire but then would return the exact spot it had been. This happened a few times, always coming back to the same exact place. This went on for approximately 20 minutes. The object then grew in both size and brightness, having a sort of rainbow color spectrum around the now more clearly diamond shape, shrinking again in size and brightness. In a few moments it would again, glow more brightly and larger, then, yet again and then taking off towards the North, north east at a speed I can only describe as incredibly fast, more so than any know aircraft I had ever seen or heard of. It was over the Northern horizon in about 1 second. That was the end of the sighting. As we watched this happen, we had wondered what it was and why it would be hovering over a small farm town with no military or tech industries around. These events were burned into my memory to the point that I have drawn a series of drawing depicting the events of that evening.
