Color: Latex, pale cream
Estimated Size: Believed to be 6 feet

Direction from Viewer: Directly overhead

Heading: Stationary, then due East instantly.
Closest Distance: Initially, 1000 to 1500 feet
Estimated Speed: 10 miles per second

After spotting a round, cream object overhead, it accelerated from stationary to the horizon instantly and silently.

Son remarked that he could see a small round object directly overhead and asked what it might be. I looked directly overhead and observed a small, pale amber or cream colored round stationary object about the size of a BB held at arms length. Due to our nearness to Vandenberg AFB, I remarked that it looked like a typical "Weather Balloon" and was not unusual. However, shortly after making this remark, the object moved without sound or gradual acceleration and disappeared at the Eastern Horizon gone from view essentially instantaneously. I had seen many weather balloons launched in my time in the Navy and while they could move with the wind quite rapidly especially when encountering a Jet Stream at higher altitudes. This objects lateral movement was instant, disappearing from view at the eastern horizon in less than a second.
