A silver orb slowly tracking near mountain top, takes 90 turn to east.
I was a teenager mowing my parents' lawn on Hitching Post RD. When I came back outside from a lemonade break, I spotted a perfect metal sphere moving slowly just 200ft below the summit of little Mt. Ellis to my east. The sun reflected off the silver sphere as it was a clear summer day. I had enough time to do a triple to make sure I was seeing what I was seeing. Just after I did my third check, the object had made it past the north edge of Little Mt. Ellis, then made a perfect 90-degree turn and accelerated instantly to the east, away from me. It was an impossible speed and turn, but I could just make out the direction it went before disappearing almost instantly.
I told my parents about it, but I didn't think much about it until the 60 Minutes Nimitz story a few years ago. It was the one cockpit camera photo they had that looked nearly identical.
