Observed a disc shaped craft

Back then my girlfriend and I were heading east of Santa Maria on our way to sisquoc at night. Around 10pm. We saw a disc shaped craft with lights just hovering about 250 ft silently. Just hovering. It was eerie and my girlfriend and I decided to get back in the car and keep driving. We looked back and it was still there. We never knew what it was nor did we ever bring it up publicly
