Small bright orb floating in between homes.

The sighting was very brief. It was a small bright white orb that appeared from in between our neighbors homes. It flew very quickly above the home leaving a trail of light and then quickly disappeared into itself. I know that may be hard to understand. It disappeared into itself. It zip into itself or something where it instantly disappeared.
