He was changing shape from a straight line two more of a moving spiral

My wife had just returned home from work and called me outside to look at something. She described her first view of the object as looking like a white opaque bar with a light on either end that was gold in color. She also suggested that the white opaque bar may have had writing or some type of symbols on it. It reminded her of a plane pulling a sign banner. Although this was after dark and therefore did not make sense that it would be a plane pulling a banner. By the time I came out and saw it, it was more spiral in nature. Although the spiral continually changed shape and size and brightness. When it went behind a tree on our property I moved to the West to get a better view and when I saw it again it had a very bright. To the left of what remained of the spiral and as it continued to move East, it's slowly dissipated from my view, probably because it was once again moving behind trees on my property.
