Two strange spheres over Boursani, Olympus, Greece, 1822

One of the stories we introduced comes from Theophilos Kairis, a prominent scholar of the Greek Enlightenment, who during the Olympus campaign in 1822 wrote about an object he saw in the sky which, after splitting in two, disappeared at great speed. The relevant excerpt from his journal was published in Volume VII of the “Bulletin of the Historical and Ethnological Society” (1910–1918) by former professor I. K. Vogiatzidis of the University of Thessaloniki. In it, Kairis notes: “We reached a place called Boursani, where we stayed for the rest of the night. We also witnessed a curious meteor-like phenomenon, whose apparent diameter was about a span. It divided into two spheres — the larger being bright, bluish, and very swift, and the smaller being fiery. It lasted for about three seconds...” Source: UFO-Greece team
