I saw what appeared to be a large metal object hovering in the sky, near to the ground, just above the trees
I was driving east on highway 16. About 2 miles before the Union Ave exit, I noticed what appeared to be a large, dark grey metallic object hovering in the sky over the Northend Tacoma neighborhood, pretty low to the ground. (Heading east on Highway 16, I was looking on the left, right out my driver's side window). It looked like the size of an aircraft carrier. I kept watching it while I was driving. Around the Union Avenue exit, I was able to get about 15 seconds of video footage of what I saw. I then crossed over the Nalley Valley bridge, exited off the freeway and then got back onto the freeway, heading back in the same direction, seeing if I could have another look at it. Crossing back over the Nalley Valley bridge (on my way to the Sprague Ave exit) I was able to see it again, hovering in the sky. From this angle, it looked like it was very close to St. Joseph hospital. This was the last time I saw it. I drove around for some time trying to get another look at it. About 15 minutes later, I drove back over the Nalley Valley bridge, but it was gone.

On Sunday, September 7, 2025, the Goodyear Blimp was transiting the Puget Sound area. It was reported over Tacoma that afternoon on social media, spotted over nearby Yelm the same day (with a FlightAware track referenced), and then seen over West Seattle around 4:47 pm—so a Tacoma sighting near ~3 pm fits the timeline.
