3 large objects in the sky with a physical mass in between the lights that would cover the stars as the went by

Went outside for a late night cigarette, and I was looking up at the sky when I noticed some solid lights moving, normally I mark it off as SATs. This time was different I noticed that in between the lights was a physical mass that would've cover the stars as it flew by, there was three of them flying one behind another. After that 3-4 more much smaller objects followed them north. They made absolutely no sound. It was something that I analyzed for awhile. Cuz I do believe but always remain skeptical, but this one brought me chills.
