Three craft came together from various directions and began alternating sparkler like displays at each other.

I was elk hunting and stopped on the way back to camp to observe the night sky with thousands of stars and a clear view all around. All of a sudden three white lights rapidly converged to a spot in the sky, coming from different directions. They stayed motionless for a few seconds and then began alternatively emitting sparks towards each other. The sparks shot out in all directions and then dissipated into space. They didn't fall to the ground like welding sparks or what you see from fireworks and their arcing flaming descent patterns. One of the objects then moved away from the others and began a bizarre zig-zagging flight moving quickly back and forth and without slowing down rapidly making 90 degree turns. Finally, it reconverged with the other two and they all remained motionless for a short time, then they all sort of drifted away from each other in different directions and disappeared. They were all of similar brightness, slightly brighter than the background stars and hard to pick out when they stopped moving at different times. I remember thinking at the time that I would have given a thousand dollars to have a videorecorder with me.
